Ingimex breaks 4x4 market with Mercedes Sprinter deal

Nov 08

Ingimex is supplying its first 3.5 tonne tipper for a four wheel drive vehicle, with the contract to supply Mercedes with bodywork for the new Sprinter 4x4 model through individual dealerships.

The 4x4 Sprinter models use a fully developed and integrated factory assembled driveline and are built alongside 4x2 models. The model has a powerful new engine range, extra wheelbase and roof height options, and Adaptive ESP® and a breakthrough driving safety system that monitors load status.

The durable, lightweight Ingimex bodywork is perfect for the Mercedes chassis, which is more substantial than standard 3.5 tonne chassis. The bodywork is currently available for the Thor dropside and Titan tipper medium wheel base chassis and will be available for long wheel base models in 2009, when Mercedes launch their long wheel base chassis. Managing Director Justin Gallen said: “We are delighted to be able to supply bodywork to Mercedes for the New Sprinter 4x4 model and add to the wide range of commercial vehicle models that we already provide for.”

“Ingimex bodies are primarily constructed in aluminium, with steel reinforcement where necessary, to ensure maximum payload capacities. We go to great lengths to achieve strong but light designs, with higher legal load capacities, better aesthetics, better componentry and a higher residual value. The benefits to dealers and manufacturers are in finished, converted vehicles which have warranty terms in line with the base vehicle and after sales support to exceed standards expected of the commercial vehicle market today.”

Ingimex will supply the bodywork through the Mercedes dealer networks and are working with dealers to provide competitive prices and quick turn around times.
