A long-term strategy to enter the 3.5 tonne LCV body conversion market in Europe sees Telford-based manufacturer Ingimex make two senior appointments.

Export Manager Franck Potron joins Ingimex from Thiriet, a French manufacturer of vehicle body components, where he played a business development role for 13 years.

Managing director Justin Gallen said: “Franck’s appointment sets the ball rolling for our drive into Europe, where we see opportunities for serious levels of growth to design and manufacture a complete range of LCV conversions and enhancements. Franck brings a wealth of experience in the road transport industry, having covered territories in all corners of Europe as well as North Africa.

“Manufacturing process improvement cuts through all that we do and, having developed a relationship with Ingimex as a supplier, Franck has a real understanding of our ‘automotive’ approach. I am delighted to welcome him to the team.”

Senior buyer Mick Tart joins Ingimex from Hager, a major manufacturer of electrical installation products, where he was strategic buyer. He has extensive experience of cost analysis, supplier benchmarking and development, and managing strategic partnerships with suppliers across Europe and Asia. Mick is a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.

Mick’s appointment confirms the company’s commitment to manufacturing process improvement, says managing director Justin Gallen: “Mick will be taking a lead role to introduce supplier development programmes which take an holistic view of performance. It’s about achieving cost-savings without losing sight of quality in terms of service, delivery, engineering and manufacture.

He added: “Mick brings an international dimension to the team and an in-depth understanding of volume manufacturing, which will be invaluable during our next phase of growth into Europe.”
