Ingimex interchangeable cage kit new for CV Show 2005

A new interchangeable cage kit for the 3.5 tonne chassis cab market is being launched by body manufacturer Ingimex at this year’s CV Show. Designed for light, high-volume loose loads, the cage kit breaks down into four main subassemblies and is interchangeable with any base Titan Tipper conversion at 3.5 tonnes.

The concept was presented at CIWM* exhibition 2004, and the CV Show 2005 sees the final production prototype on display for the first time.

Engineered for an optimum life span, the cage kit is a bolted aluminium and steel construction of pre-finished assemblies. Synthetic bearing surfaces, powder coated finishes and interchangeable parts combine to create a hard-wearing, cost-effective cage suitable for a variety of operators, from waste management to parks and leisure services. Its lightweight construction allows for increased payload, and a sliding nearside door and side-hinged double rear doors allow for easy access. Twenty four hour availability of pre-finished spare parts eliminates lengthy periods of downtime. And repeat manufacture guarantees the interchangeability of subassemblies between any Titan Tipper.

Failsafe tail locking, an enhanced safety feature launched at this year’s CV Show, is provided by a radical new locking mechanism on the rear tailboard of all Titan Tipper conversions. The tailboard is locked at each of the four corners, with yellow handles providing a prominent visual warning when unlocked. Although the tailboard can be hinged from either the top or bottom, the locking mechanism prevents the user inadvertently disengaging more than two locks to let the tailboard fall.

The Ingimex cage kit is available from stock either as retrofit or during core vehicle manufacture.
